Labor until rest

2 By the seventh day God had finished
the work he had been doing; so on the
seventh day he rested from all his work.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. -Genesis 2:2-3

Rest is the freedom of activity or labor. Rest is an important term and concept in Christianity. It's the state of no doubt, no unbelief and Total trust in the God who cannot lie.
Why did God rest? Was He tired??  Of course not! Psalms 121 says our God neither sleeps nor slumbers. Other books says God neither goes weary. So why the rest?? God rested because all that needed to be done and put in place what every believer and everyone needed for survival and existence. There was nothing else to be done. That's very wonderful. So God wants us to enter that same rest such that we no longer worry about our existence and supplies. He just wants us to have incurable faith in Him and His word.

How can I enter into this glorious rest??
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary
and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29
Take my yoke upon you and learn from
me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. 30
For my yoke is easy and my burden is
light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Just come to Jesus and you will be enlisted to God's army, kingdom and commonwealth. believe He died for you and confess Him as your Lord and savior. That's all, Too easy

Why labor until rest
From our earlier definition rest is absence of labor. Now why labor until rest??

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.- Hebrews 4:11.

Most of the time we are overwhelmed by our realities, depression and at times ailments. We need to just enter this rest. But our flesh can't ,our spirit can. We have to commit ourselves to study of The Scriptures to increase our faith also commit ourselves to Thanksgiving, prayer and loving kindness. Fasting also helps in removing the cloud of unbelief.
Shalom!
