Marching on

A man is not finished when he is defeated, he is defeated when he quits -Richard Nixon

There are times when people get discouraged to stop going in life either by the little feeling of fulfilment or hardships. Each part would be treated accordingly.

A man could be discouraged by many factors which is majorly hardship. Thomas Carlyle wrote the history of the French revolution. His first manuscript which took him two full years to research when completed was given to his neighbour, John Stuart Mill, for proof reading. Only for the disastrous news to come back a few days later that Mr Mill's maid used the manuscript to start a fire in the fire place.
You can imagine how someone's ignorance, carelessness, blunders and mistakes can cost you years of persevering and dedicated hard work. Carlyle was naturally upset. He raged like a mad man for several days when he discovered how two years of his life was reduced to ashes. As a result, he resolved not to go back to writing again.
However, one day Carlyle on looking out of his window saw something that caught his attention. A Stone Mason was rebuilding a collapsed wall. It was slow but patient work and after a while there was a new wall. Carlyle learnt a lesson here that no matter what has happened, it is possible to start all over again.
Hardships are just propellants for success. No wonder The Chinese have a proverb that says "The gem cannot be polished without friction; nor man perfected without trials".

Now for those that give up just for the mere feeling of little fulfilment or achievement. Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 3:13-14 -Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended : but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things Which are before. I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
There is always a next level in life. There are more opportunities everyday.
John Burroughs said "The lesson which life repeats and constantly reinforces is 'Look under your foot', you are always nearer than you think. The great opportunity is where you are.
Every day is loaded with new things.
Albert Dunning said "Great opportunities come to all, but many do not know that they have met them. The only preparation to take advantage of them is. ......to watch what each day brings. ...

Yes you can. I love you, From my heart I love you 😃
