Mentors and protégés

The concept of mentoring and protégé is a principle that started and has its origin in the Greek tradition. Though it started with the Greek people, it is being explored a lot in management, industries and businesses today.
A mentor is a trusted counsellor, guide, tutor or coach, someone who has experienced what you are trying to learn. He or she knows the pitfalls on the way you are about to tread. He or she has passed through that route and suffered something you don't wish to suffer. He or she has passed through that journey and from his or her experience, you can start from where he or she stopped so that you won't need to suffer the challenges they passed through that could have been avoided. A mentor must have godly virtues and must be willing to transfer wisdom to his or her protégé.
A protégé is like an apprentice. A protégé is the one submitting to the mentor's counsel, reprove, correction and sometimes discipline.

Why the need? ?

It's a common saying that experience is the best teacher, it can't be bought in the market but it can be shared. Connecting with people of great experience makes you older in your field. Mentors keep visions alive, they help fuel and ignite the passion you have for your course. They see possibilities which you might not see.

You need a mentor, go get one
