All about Christmas

"Christmas" is a shortened form of " Christ 's mass". It is derived from the Middle English Cristemasse , which is from Old English Crīstesmæsse . Meaning The Messiah's birth. It's alternative names include midwinter or.
Noel .
Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus Christ, The Savior of humanity from the impending eternal condemnation for all who don't believe in Him and His Father, God Almighty.
Christmas day is the day set aside to celebrate His birth. It's a day of sharing, merriment, gift exchange, remembering The less privileged, disabled and appreciating God for His good plans for mankind by sending Jesus to reconcile us with Him.
People added spice to the celebration by decorating trees and also exchanging "Christmas cards". In Britain, the Christmas tree was introduced in
the early 19th century following the personal union with the Kingdom of Hanover by Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz , wife of King George III . In 1843, the first commercial Christmas card was produced by Sir Henry Cole .

The day of Christmas
This has caused great dissension in many gatherings since it was not indicated in The Holy Bible. Schools of thought after recognizing the urgent need to celebrate chose different days for celebration. Ranging from December 25, January 7, January 6, January 19, May 20, March 21, April 15, April 20 and April 21. Considering the real story of Jesus' birth, The major events like the visit of the wise men and angelic visit of the shepherds happened at night. So the day Jesus was born should be the day with longest night.
In Geography, we have different times when we have equal day and night or the opposite called "Equinox and Solstice" respectively. Due to the different location of the sun at the equator and poles. We are to have the winter solstice on December 25. it was about nine months after March 25, the date of the vernal equinox and a date linked to the conception of Jesus; and it
was the date of a Roman pagan festival in honor of the Sun god Sol Invictus. This connection became stronger because Jesus is also called "The Sun of Righteousness".

Santa Claus(Father Christmas)
Sand Claus and That Elves in the north and south poles all appear to be fiction. Santa claus was actually a saint. Saint Nicholas , known as Sinterklaas in the Netherlands, is considered by many to be the original Santa Claus.

Why Red and White??
The colours Red and  White are commonly used. Red is also the color of Holly berries, which
is said to represent the blood of Jesus when he died on the cross.
Red is also the color of Bishops robes. These would have been worn by St. Nicholas and then also became Santa's uniform. White signifies Holiness and purity.

Let's celebrate together
