The Book of Hosea - Episode 1

Prophet Hosea was a prophet of Jehovah. He lived in the times of Prophet Isaiah. His whole life was dedicated to the people of Israel. I mean his
marriage, children and life as a whole.
It all began with Hosea 1:2
"Go take yourself a wife of harlotry
and children of harlotry.
For the land has committed great harlotry
by departing from the Lord"
The good lord instructed him to marry an harlot. How could God allow him marry a strange woman?? Remember God is sovereign, He does as he pleases. Anyway,  He did that to show His jealousy over His beloved. Remember He's a jealous God  (Deut. 5:19). His beloved people fell in love with strange gods "idolatry" (harlotry). God demands our total love, give Him. Don't have an idol.

Now for his first child, the Lord said :
"Call his name Jezreel, for in a little while
I will avenge the blood shed of Jezreel
on the house of Jehu, and bring an end
to the kingdom of Israel"
His second child, a daughter, He said :
"Call her name Lo-Ruhamah,
for I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel ,
but I will utterly take them away"
To his third child, a son, He said :
"Call his name Lo-Ammi,
for you are not my people
and I will not be your God."
This implies that for every person, not compulsorily a prophet, the choice of marriage partners, naming of children, companies, businesses, churches and organisations should be done and inspired by God.

"In the place where it was said to them
'You are not my people'
there it shall be said to them
'You are sons of the living God'
Then the children of Israel shall be gathered together
and appoint for themselves one head
and they shall come out of the land "
This also implies that God still has plans for restoration despite their harlotry. Also from the underlined, God supports cooperation, teamwork and leadership.

All these are from the first chapter. ....I love you
