The missed flight - The value of patience

Mum came home last night happy and excited "What's gonna be happening" I wondered because mum comes home most times with a tired look of been worn out by the stress filled day or the traffic. "We are going to the Bahamas for Summer" she said waving some tickets. I was soo excited, excited to have fun, know a new place and also meet dad who was on an official assignment there. So we prepared well, I bought two nice swim suits and enough shades hoping to swim and play all day in the beaches of Bahamas 😃. Tina, my sister got a new camera hoping to take snapshots and selfies on the island.

On the Monday morning, we left home very early. Unfortunately, there was a great traffic congestion caused by a passenger bus which caught fire after it crashed on a fuel tanker. Every where became rowdy, people began running for their dear lives, no way to reverse the vehicle, cars were parked here and there. The scheduled time of flight was 9:00 am and it was already 8:35 am. Mum was soo confused. Could this be the end? ?In no time, the fire fighters and traffic wardens appeared and calmed the situation but we got to the airport 9:51 am.we thought something could be done about it but the airport authorities suggested we waited for the next flight which was to take off by 11:00 pm almost midnight.

I felt soo bad and angered, I began kicking every item I found to the extent that the police had to caution me. Mum still remained calm. I wondered why?? She said "All Will be well, be patient""Let's go to the shopping mall, I heard they have a good cinema there"she added. Grudgingly I went there and to my utmost surprise, my favourite Movie series, Harry Potter was being showed. I was soo excited that in the process, I hit the ice cream cup of a young beautiful lady sitting next to me. I was quick to apologise due to my affinity for the feminine gender. She smiled and nodded indicating my apologies had been accepted. After the film show. My new friend and I moved over to the game centre. We had lots of fun, exchanged phone numbers and joked with each other. "Akin, it's time to go "yelled Mum. I never knew it was 10:30 pm already. I was soo amazed as at why my new friend, Sandra, stayed late. It was later I discovered she was the daughter of the owner of the mall. After some couple of years, I got married to Sandra

This is the story of a friend Akin. If he was impatient, he would have missed it, I mean his wife.
Patience is a virtue. It's the ability to stay calm and accept a delay or something annoying without complaining. It's love in action. When you are patient with yourself and those around you, then you will love yourself and your fellow human beings.
Life sometimes throws some kinds of ups and downs at us, you need patient to overcome. .
