"If people are kicking you in the behind, at least you are in front of them"- Billy Graham
Chances are that you have heard unkind and critical words about your person, work and goals. Don't give up on your dreams because of that. I must admit that it is never easy to deal with critics especially when you have put in your very best. You can however, learn and improve in spite of criticism. Criticism is unqualified praise. It is unsolicited advice.
More than that, criticism is a sure sign that you are doing something that is probably taking you somewhere. Remember no one ever throw stones to a non-fruit bearing tree.
Thank goodness you are worth somebody's time and attention. Small insignificant and unimportant people are never criticised. Only result producers, achievers and influencers are under watchful eyes of critics.
However, some criticism are worth listening to if they come from knowledgeable and well-informed persons. Chances are that you can profit from them. On the other hand, criticism from pessimists should at best be ignored.
In like manner, don't surrender your destiny to failures. A person who is going nowhere or has nothing to show forth is not qualified to criticise you. Don't trade places with such people. Listening to them is like carrying a heavy luggage. It can only weigh you down.
Whoever is the critic, reminds yourself that if you are not going anywhere in life, nobody will ever mind you. An eagle cannot stop soaring high because of criticism of a chicken.
If you are not big enough to stand criticism, you are too small to be promoted.
"A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd" - James Crook.
